Smyrna Development: 4 years later…

Thursday, March 30th, 2006

With the recent influx of new development and flury of rumors in local newspapers about up-anc-coming development, it’s interesting to compare the predictions of the past with the current rumor mill.

In the April 12, 2002, edition of the Nashville Business Journal, various sources cited a number of possible business developments in the Sam Ridley Parkway area.  Among the predictions:  Target (still predicted); Home Depot (still predicted); Kohl’s (not on the radar recently - that I’ve heard); Walgreens (store now in place); Lowe’s (behind the Walgreens); Sonic (just past the Lowe’s); and Hilton Hotels (currently predicted).

We’ve also heard (from the new neighbors of a happy home buyer) that there may be a Chik-Fil-A in Smyrna’s future.  And of course, our former Edge-O-Lake neighbor Raz is building a new restaurant near the Lowe’s.  Raz is a fabulous chef, and we can’t wait to have one of his restaurants close enough to frequent more often!
