Investment security in the Middle Tennessee real estate market

Looking for empirical confirmation that Middle Tennessee is a great place for real estate investing?  Look no further than the PMI Market Risk Index.  According to their research, the Nashville area real estate market is both continuing to appreciate at a good rate and unlikely to begin depreciating in the next year.  Only a handful of markets share these qualities - Nashville, Memphis, San Antonio, Charlotte and Austin.  Each of these markets also ranks well in affordability according to PMI’s research. 

February home sales up 13 percent in Rutherford County

According to the March 12, 2006, edition of the Daily News Journal, 447 homes were sold in Rutherford County in February 2006.  The DNJ reported that “Sales are up 13 percent from January of this year” and that “[t]he average sale price and square footage of homes sold continues to rise month-to month.  Sales prices averages $162,806 in February, up roughly $2,573 from the previous month, but the average house sold was 1,832 square feet roughly 61 square feet larger.”

2005 was a very good year for housing in Rutherford County

According to the December 30, 2005, edition of the Daily News Journal, “Home building across the county reached record highs in 2005 despite rising construction costs, property prices and mortgage rates for buyers.”
