According to today’s Smyrna AM edition of the Daily News Journal, US Representative Bart Gordon has secured funding to expand Rutherford County’s greenway system. As part of the expansion, the greenways in Smyrna will be connected to those in La Vergne. The end result will be a greenway running from downtown Nashville to La Vergne, Smyrna, and Murfreesboro.
Smyrna’s greenway system presently runs from Percy Priest Lake and branches out toward the Towne Center and toward Old Jefferson Pike. You can find a map of the greenway system on the town of Smyrna’s website.
